ToolStep is a small team by design. We don't hire anonymous freelance writers to churn out reviews. Every reviewer has a public author page, a specific area of expertise, and is accountable for the ratings they assign.

Accountability
Every review on ToolStep is published under a real person's name. If you disagree with a rating, you can find the reviewer's contact information on their author page and reach out directly. We don't hide behind "ToolStep Team" except for collaborative roundups.
Our reviewers are also bound by our Editorial Policy, which prohibits conflicts of interest, brand payments, and AI-written content. If a reviewer violates these rules, we remove their reviews and publish a correction.
Want to Join?
We're always looking for experienced reviewers with deep expertise in a specific product category. If you've spent years analyzing a category of products (e.g., mechanical keyboards, ergonomic chairs, audio equipment) and want to write for us, reach out at careers@toolstep.com.
We do not hire generalist content writers. We hire domain experts. If you can't tell the difference between a Gateron Red and a Cherry MX Brown by feel, we won't hire you to review keyboards.
